The Second Hand

The Second Hand is a puzzle adventure game about a ghost possessing clocks in his old clock shop that is being run by his niece now. The shop is on the verge of being sold, and the player gains powers to influence the decision.

Design Goals:

  • Develop a game that explores the sense of being an inanimate object through gameplay.

  • Create puzzles that are centered around the actions of being an inanimate object.

  • Created several prototypes ranging from mechanical prototypes demonstrating the experience of inhabiting different objects and narrative prototypes to identify key narrative themes.

  • Designed the game’s puzzle centered around the game’s mechanic of inhabiting clocks in a clock store.

  • Created level white boxes that would then be refined to create the game’s main level.

  • Created several 3d game assets and UV mapped for texture implementation.

What I Did:
