Demonstrated Skills:
Game Design
Narrative Design
Abstract writing
Creative Research
Design Goals:
Embark players on a ritualistic storytelling game.
Allow players to dictate and develop their own meaning from the game’s various artwork.
As part of the team working on Veil, I designed the core mechanic of tarot cards with art that changes depending on the filter players place on them.
I assisted with researching stories and games set in the Victorian Era in order to develop the game’s story revolving around a woman’s past life. I also contributed with researching aspects of tarot card designs and readings, to inform how we could create a ritualistic playing experience.
I wrote the rules and descriptions for various cards that would later inform our artist with creating the designs for the game’s tarot cards.
